Seriously, let's take a second from our lives and just think of what's happening around us. Thousands of people are being killed daily, no matter where they are from. War, weapons, terrorist attacks, one country against the other. We all live in this planet, yet we can't seem to live together as a whole.

What must happen for us to actually reach World Peace? Do aliens or whatever extraterrestrial need to attack this damn earth in order for us all to unite as ONE and fight for each and every life on this planet? Why must be wait for a catastrophe to happened in order for us to realize what we are doing wrong? Why is are nature like that? Even in my small country of 600k citizens, we had an army base station that held some year expired explosive stuff, no one did anything about those despite all the warning, and one day they just went BOOM killing innocent people,2 of the people that died were friends of mine, that are now considered heroes of this country. They should NOT be heroes. They did not die, protecting this country. They died because our idiotic president did NOTHING to stop this from happening.

Why is it in human's nature that something BAD has to happen in order for us to learn? Why can't we prevent something from happening beforehand?

We are all humans living on this earth for whatever god damn reason. If the only way we will truly be united as ONE is by an alien invasion or some ****, then they might as well come and destroy us now because we are already doomed as humanity.

Sometimes i feel like it would take an alien invasion for people to realize that we are of the same species inhabiting the same planet, that we should have some more unity..

Thank you. It's crazy how people are dying right in front of our eyes, and the first thing people do is change their Facebook picture to 'support' France. And you know damn well, the majority of those people were checking for how many likes and comments their profile got, instead of actually thinking of what's happening in the world.

Who said anything about getting along with aliens? I meant, if an alien race attacked the earth, then we would have to unite and work as ONE to defend our planet.

Would never work. You'd think terrorism would unite people (since it's obviously evil), but look at all the conflict Paris caused. No one can agree on who to blame, what their motives are, how to approach security, what to do about the refugee crisis, or even if it's f***ing acceptable to say "#Pray4Paris" despite, you know, Paris just suffering from a terrorist attack.

And this was going on during the attack, for good measure. They couldn't even wait till after.

Haven't read the OP, but I had same idea for quite a while. The only way for world peace is an external enemy.
It's a basic human nature of them vs us and it applies to every little aspect of human life. From families and friends, to tribes, countries, races, religions. As soon as you can exclude someone for their differences, the bond within your group becomes stronger and you feel more united.

That's messed up though. So we should wait for an alien invasion in order for the world to find peace as a whole.
They should just go ahead and destroy us, we're doomed anyway.

An Alien invasion would unite us for a few months but humans will start fighting among each other in the end (dealings with Alien, mass betrayal, technology, supplies, etc.)
