PreP is like $3500 for a 30 Day Supply if you don't have insurance

I think also the purpose of PreP is to make people feel better about seeing someone who is positive. It's trying to remove the stigma of HIV+ people. If you're on PreP and use condoms together then it's no longer really an issue for someone who is HIV- to have sex with or be in a relationship with someone who is HIV+. Of course, HIV is still a huge fear for many gay people, but the statistics about PreP use are encouraging for people who might now reconsider seeing someone who is positive, instead of writing them off from the get-go.

Yes some people are dumb and just take it so they can bareback, but that's not its purpose (by Justin Bieber available on itunes now). I think at the end of the day, no one should be passing up the chance to have something great simply because of their HIV status, especially when most people are completely fine if they reach undetectable status. There just isn't a lot of knowledge of what that means. I was talking to a guy who was + who wanted to have sex, and he said he was undetectable and I had no idea what that meant. I think PreP would just make everyone a lot more sex positive about people who are positive, which I think is great when done safely.

Their are ALOT of people (gay ones at that) who don't give a damn if there's PreP or if you're undetectable, they still won't come have sex with them no matter what.

But if you use condoms, what do you need Prep for?

PreP is a great idea in my opinion, but like someone said earlier I don't like how it's now being used as an excuse to participate in promiscuous bareback sex.

PreP is actually REALLY common here in Ft. Lauderdale. It's almost shocking to me how many guys are on it, but you know what's happened???? There's been a massive syphilis outbreak going on down here. I'm almost sure it's because of all the bareback sex that's been occuring since so many men see PreP as a reason to breed every hole in site.

PreP is like a second layer of security in a sense. Condoms aren't fool proof.

I'm not surprised either, but it's like these men don't see that while one evil is being controlled, another evil is spreading at an alarming rate.

I saw The Normal Heart for the first time ever this week and a scene from the movie stood out to me. The scene where the men were outraged after being told to stop having sex because the "gay cancer" was spreading fast, and killing fast. The men didn't care, and that's exactly what we're dealing with here now.

Oh ok didn't know that, had just read before that after it was introduced they were increasing.

The "I like to party" guy is exactly the type I stalk at bars. Oddly enough none of those kinds of guys I get with care about being safe.
