People these days get offended easily, even when you don't say something out of the ordinary. If I said something possibly hurtful yet it's true or accurate, am I being trashy and tasteless? So, if we speak up against something that affects us negatively, does it make us evil? Let me understand
Some people can't handle the truth. But sometimes you got to keep your opinions to yourself if you're not asked. For example, some bullies would pretend to give an advice to an overweight or an obese person claiming they actually care about their health yet if they see an alcholic drinking or a smoker smoking they turn a blind eye. Technicaly it's the same situation but as I said some bullies use the "speaking the truth" excuse to hurt others.
One of my friend's battles with this and I once thought he was autistic. There are just some things in social settings you don't say.
The truth can be offensive, but I tell people this: if you can't dish it don't say it. If you believe yourself to be this truth sayer then be prepared to deal with the consequences. It isn't so much that people are 'easily offended these days' but it is becoming socially acceptable to debate and deal with verbal confrontation.
If the "truth" offends someone, it s probably only just an opinion.
Not true. If you tell an obese person they're fat and they're offended by it would you call that an opinion?
Obviously it's wrong and hurtful but if you're fat you're fat. And yet they'll get offended if someone calls them that. I mean smart people should know never to say that to a fat person but I'm just saying, your logic doesn't really apply here.
It shouldn't be but people easily get offended why for now I gotta keep quiet I'm not allowed to have my own say it's like on this site I never speak up but when I do I get attacked in a second...it's stupid.
Some people are confused. They think they're being "real" by speaking some not so truthful truth (which is instead just how they see something) and are like, "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!1!!1111 SORRY I'M JUST REAL!" when someone points out they're being unnecessarily rude.
There's a way to phrase everything. there is a way to tell someone an unfortunate truth without being a total dick. The case isn't always that people get too easily offended. Sometimes, believe it or not, you're just being mean.
Speaking the truth may offend people or make them uncomfortable but it should never be held back if it is an issue that negatively affects you. You shouldn't have to deduce yourself to comfort people for their happiness.

"Fat" is still an opinion. It's not a scientific term, and it has a negative connotation. Being over the normal size or overweight are more accurate scienfically and therefore less offensive and more neutral. Everything defends on the terms you use.
If someone believes into something that is not true and I know it then it is my obligation to inform them. If its a fact that could just prove to be hurtful, like the overweight example then its not really even necessary to tell them the truth in the first place. The truth should be told when the other person is spreading lies. However on this site, many lies are taken as fact and anyone who knows the real answers will be viciously attacked because it doesn't fit into their narrative.
People are just bitches that's tha thing. My ex would always get butthurt and sad because i would say that he sleeps around with a different guy everyday. But i mean, he was getting banged my who knows how many people and got caught up and caught tha bug so what am i supposed to say?
it depends, but sometimes some things don't need to be said. some people just want to be spiteful for no reason and cover it up as the truth.
