Is "Sparks" one of the best pop songs of the year?
"Sparks" - Hilary Duff
The year is coming to a close, and looking back, I don't think there were many pop songs released this year as good as "Sparks" by Hilary Duff from her album Breathe In. Breathe Out. The song may have flopped due to RCA's negligence, but it remains superior to most of the pop songs released this year (in my opinion). What are your thoughts on this underrated gem?
Released: April 7, 2015 Writers: Christian "Bloodshy" Karlsson, Peter Thomas, Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson (Tove Lo), & Sam Shrieve Producers: Peter Thomas, Bloodshy, Svidden, & Emily Wright
P.S. - If you haven't listened to the instrumental, you should check it out. It's heavenly.
Yes, I still love the song and the album so much. Will never forgive Hilary and ha team for paying it dust.
It's a shame because the song actually got a fair amount of promo on Hilary's part (5 performances is a lot more than many singles have gotten this year), but RCA did nothing for the single on radio.

And the tragic "music video" for My Kind, the song and album deserved so much better. She could've slayed this year.

Imagine if RCA hadn't wasted money on the "Chasing the Sun" and "All About You" music videos and spent it on a radio deal for "Sparks" and a Tinder-less video from the get-go. Also the fact that they didn't release a second single is ridiculous.

Right? So much potential in one album. So many songs were single worthy too.
