I used to write Spanish words and their translations on my desk in really small, light writing so that I could reference them if I forgot

our teacher gave us so much vocab to remember.
Another time in AP Psych my teacher was letting me make up a test I (purposely) missed, and she had another class in the computer lab while I was taking the test (it was my TA period) so she wasn't in the room. I just looked up all the answers on my phone and I got a 98 on it
Oh and in both Chemistry and Math I would put notes in the program function on my graphing calculator. I did the archive thing so even if my teacher cleared the memory I'd still have the notes.
I don't know that I'd try cheating in college... obviously there's much higher penalties if you get caught. I have my final Advanced Chem midterm on Monday and instead of writing on a note card I'm going to print out a 3x5 sheet of paper loaded with notes as small a font as I can read
