I feel so bad for the victims families imagine having to hear news like this.

Extremism comes from struggle. People in struggle turn to religion for comfort. Evil people take advantage of this and climb for power in religious sects. Then they use their influence as religious leaders to fuel their own ahendas.

Just like how Catholics burned innocent women at the stake during the Spanish inquisition .

Usually these extremists have a political agenda. Along with effective brainwashing and "us vs them" mentality and you have something nasty.

Really the whole thing is a ideological war against the West whom they feel attacked by.

so what? my post is about muslims, not islam. like i said, bash islam all you want but don't come for innocent muslims. you don't punish a criminal's innocent family for their actions, do you?
i have a lot to disagree with islam, and many other religions but their followers are just regular people like me until they do something.

Sorta the Spanish extremism didn't come from struggle. The Inquisition was at the point were Spain was at the height of its power. There was no struggle. They did so because they felt it was a necessity to hold and enforce Spanish power in newly conquered regions and to remove any dissidents. They did the same when Protestants came around.

Feel attacked by? Sis their cities and homes have been demolished. Of course some of them arent going to understand and will join ISIS. Who would they trust more: america and europe who are far away and sending their planes to kill or the men who there preaching to them in the streets offering them freedom from the bombing?

Also when ISIS invades their town the men of the town men either join them or die.

Agreed. Which is why religion is so dangerous. Mixed with bad education, poverty, struggle and grief I don't think "evil people" is an answer. I think these beliefs manipulate people into acting this way.

I know so many Muslim people through work and they will all be just as horrified by this as the rest of us, like stop trying to make this a Muslims vs. the world debate. Terrorism comes in all forms, some of them just happen to use Islam as their justification.
