I just hope my list is correct because there are a lot of popular female artists that I've never heard about who may deserve to be on the list but got left out.

They do. I remember when an ATRL user noticed the Katy Keene thing and made a thread about it and then about half an hour later Buzzfeed articles and the like started popping up

This happened many times already. I mean even Billboard has done this before.

Forums/Social Media tends to get looked into by news sources, yes.

Buzzfeed is definitely the worst for this sort of thing. Certain "journalists" do indeed take directly from this site on occasion.
