7.1 Magnitude earthquake (Japan)

A 7.1 magnitude earthquake has struck southwestern Japan.
The quake hit Japan’s southwestern coast shortly before 6am local time (8am AEDT), the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The USGS report the quake struck approximately 160 kilometres off the coast of Makurazaki.
There is no threat of a tsunami.
No details about injuries or damages are known at this stage.

Hopefully that's it. This is southern Kyushu it seems, so the very southern part of Japan's main islands.

I think a Tsunami is inevitable, I'm studying Geology and tsunamis are very highly likely if the earthquake originated in the ocean which is quite the case. Stay safe Japan, it's not been long since the last
