The first time I heard this, I was really young. I was with my mom and my sister in a homeless shelter (which is a pretty low place in your life to get.) I remember one particular day, I was upset about something. To be honest, I can not remember what I was upset about, but I was crying. My best friend in the shelter had lent me his mother's CD player to listen to, in an attempt to make me feel better. I found this song on the CD player, and I stopped crying.
I'd choose this song because I would hope it'd remind me that as dark as life can get, you can find those moments of happiness, and that there are people who care about me. (As well as, you know, my childhood and those associated with it.)
Honorable mentions:
Selena Gomez - "Stars Dance" (The first time I heard this song, I couldn't even force myself to frown because I was so overcome by the song. I'd never felt anything like it before.)
Kesha - "Take It Off" (I credit this song as one of the biggest factors in accepting who I am as a person. That sounds stupid and cliched, I know, but it is what it is)

Omg, I loved reading this. Definitely a strong message there
