In 2014, a docu-film called "Alive Inside: A Story Of Music And Memory" was released about the strength of music and it's correlation with memory in patients with Alzheimer's.
Long story short is they played various patients in nursing homes all over, who for the the longest time barely even spoke a word, music from their younger years or their favorite song and then watched the life come out of them once again. Here's a clip/example from the film:
Well, my most played song is Safe & Sound, but Love Story would probably work best.
Then again, there are so many songs that I've listened to so many times...
I feel like I would still remember Born This Way even if I forgot everything about myself.
Not you twinks posting basic ass pop songs. Those old people will hate you if they had to listen to them.
The question isn't what song would you play for old people, it's what song would be played for you when you're old. For most of us, that means a pop song.
I think this would be the smartest choice of song since I would remember The Undertaker made his debut in late 1990 (when I was born). His career spans 25 years, the age I am now. Each of his milestones were noted yearly in April/March. Thus building this timeline of events in my mind would allow me to access parts of my memory, and hopefully remember my life.
Jim Johnston is an underrated composer and the final and demo are two of my favourite pieces of instrumental music.
It's really sad to think about it actually. Alzheimer's is horrible.. one of the saddest and most tragic diseases.

This. I've had 3 family members go through and pass away from it, it really hits home.
