After Nicki gives us her skewed version of Roald Dahl's Cinderella, Kanye introduces us to his "Dark Fantasy" the album which sets out to change the public perception of him after the incident. Of course he succeeded, and in turn delivered the most acclaimed album of the decade so far.
The song's hook, sung by Teyana Taylor is sampled from "In High Places" by Mike Oldfield. The song also features Justin Vernon of Bon Iver.
Best bit: Nicki her "British accent" lmao Best lyrics: "The plan was to drink until the pain was over, but what’s worse, the pain or the hangover?""Look like a fat booty Celine Dion / Sex is on fire, I'm the King of Leon-a Lewis"
A shock perhaps? Often considered to be Kanye's magnum opus, the nine minute "Runaway" was released as the second single from the album, topping many a critic's year end list and peaking in the US top 20. The song is about criticism Kanye has faced in the past and apparently he was adamant about including as many "douchebags" as possible. The 10 minute video features ballet dancers performing elaborate choreography and the song was aslo accompanied by the 34 minute Runaway film based on the life of the mythical phoenix.
Best bit: When it finally ends tbh Best lyrics: "And I just blame everything on you / At least you know that's what I'm good at"
