My family has lived in SC for a while and there's lots of nice people but unfortunately racism is well and alive, as well as other forms of bigotry like homophobia
They can miss me with this ****. These people probably haven't even met a Middle Eastern person on their lives yet they feel so entitled to say refugees would be a risk. That councilman saying he can't take a chance for his precious son to be attacked? There are way more chances a white man attacks him than a Middle Easterner in South Carolina
The US NEEDS to take refugees. They are part of the reason Syria is in the conditions it's in now, and Europe has taken so many already.
