Two former staffers are suing a day care center in Katy, Texas, after they say they were fired for refusing to refer to a transgender 6-year-old by his new name. Christian author Madeline Kirksey said she was fired as the manager of Children’s Lighthouse Learning Center because she refused to go along with parents who decided to recognize their child as a boy, after he had attended the school for four months as a girl, a local Fox News affiliate

Ms. Kirksey said her religious beliefs made her approval of the change impossible, and insisted to the center that other parents should know about change so they can speak to their own children about transgender issues. “One day, she wanted to be a girl, the next day she wanted to be a boy. The other kids are confused as well, calling her a boy and she would start screaming, ‘I’m not a boy!’” she told Fox. After pushing back, Ms. Kirksey received a termination letter, which included claims that she failed to tell a worker to leave a game room and “when requested by parent and management to call a transgender child by the child’s new name, Madeline does not follow instructions,” Fox reported. She has hired prominent Houston attorney Andy Taylor to file a discrimination lawsuit against the school. A teacher at the center, Akesha Bogany Wyatt, said she was also fired for raising concerns about the transgender child. Briscoe Cain, the attorney representing Ms. Wyatt, told Breitbart: “My client’s sincere religious beliefs have been violated because she took a stand to protect the girl from being harassed and discriminated against.

I work as a male nurse and many of our old people are homophobic and racist but it's my job and the retirement home is not a place for politic or my religious beliefs. Your christian beliefs are your personal thing, nobody cares.

I feel bad for the kid and of course everyone is going to blame the kid because people have no respect for LGBT.
