Lady Gaga (like it or not) is the sound, voice and image of the future. Deal with it.

I like GaGa a lot, and I wish that her sound was the sound of the future, but realistically, music evolves so quickly that her sound is hardly representative of "the future". Maybe the next six years, tops. Compare music from 2003 to music from 2009.
There is no one artist that pioneers the sound of the future, change in music happens collectively.

I love her music, but Icon is too much for RIGHT NOW. Her songs aren't staples like Madonna or Britney have staple songs. They are HUGE hits, but years from now we (or at least myself) won't be calling "Just Dance" or "Poker Face" classics. They are songs of the now. We'll say that song was "so great in 2009". Whereas Madonna and other notable icons have songs you can clearly define as statures.

Eh, I think "Poker Face" could be considered a future classic.
