The GP doesn't care about anything unless it directly affects them. Do you really think the average person cares about gay rights? No, it's just gay people, people associated with gay people and "SJWs." Likewise, the people who care about media whitewashing are non-whites that are aware of the issue.
Why are you so concerned with protesting this anyway? Are you one of those people who love whining about "SJWs" all the time? Find something worthwhile to complain about.
