Anyone read up on the Fermi Paradox? It's very interesting.

This would imply that humans are the most advanced forms of life, which may or may not be the case.

A more chilling interpretation of the Fermi Paradox is that there is one dominant life form in the universe that is so far advanced it can harvest the energy of entire galaxies. To keep themselves at the top of the hierarchy they eradicate any life forms that hit a certain threshold of intelligence.
