I was listening to this for my writeup and I thought I underscored it a bit. I feel like I can appreciate some of Joanna's more as standalone tracks.. Songs like this just fade into the background when listening to the whole album.
The melancholy "Autumn" is the fifteenth track on Have One on Me. The song finds, Joanna singing about her hometown and of "friendly voices, dead and gone," Backed by one of the more complex arrangements of the album, the song still sounds as spare and bleak as a cold November day.
Best bit: The violin early in the song. Best lyrics:"Driven through by her own sword / Summer died last night, alone"
