People are just looking to discredit wherever they can. Most black soul singers don't sell well because 1. their material isn't as pop/mainstream and 2. no one is buying their music (white and/or black). That's not Adele's fault.
And Adele isn't out mocking the culture she's been inspired by.

MTE. I agreed with the article until the author said she didn't sing soulfully. Let's be honest: even though she's a pop singer, if Adele wants to sing soul, she can because she's got the voice for it. She showed she could with "Chasing Pavements," "Rumour Has It", her Sam Cooke cover...
But anyway, if I have to believe the opinions of a magazine writer or those of an actual R&B/soul singer (like Patti), I'll go with the latter.
