This next challenge is something that was included in Season 6 under a different name, but this season it's been revamped and there's a little bit more flexibility. It also contains elements of the Billboard challenge from last season.  Are you ready for...
CHALLENGE #5
THE JIGSAW CHALLENGE
This challenge was originally called "Platinum Flop" in Season 6 and was created in order to push everyone to show more rather than tell every little detail. I think this is going to bring out the best in a lot of you.
The reason why it's called the jigsaw challenge is because you will each be given a different central theme to write your song about, but you will also have to incorporate one key obscure word into your song. You can make this word your title, a part of your chorus, or just somewhere in a verse, but it must be present in your song. The task is to "complete the jigsaw" between your theme and the obscure word so it doesn't feel unnatural or forced.
You don't get to select which theme or keyword you use, however. You must select a number from 1-25, which will correspond to a theme/word combination. Once everyone has selected a number, I'll reveal who has what theme and what word. You are able to swap theme/word combinations if both contestants agree to it, but each theme must remain with its designated keyword, so you can't just swap one or the other, it's a package deal.
