most definitely. He's way more popular than they are right now and has more years over them. Even if they beat him first week via fanfare, he'll still win in the end.
Well Zayn quit, they were in major news for a while this year.
Justin's music is doing great though, however theirs would probably be doing better if they worked with the people Justin is. It's their own fault, but they care much more about the music than the celebrity, unlike him, which is probably why he's everywhere in comparison, because they could be if they wanted to.
With Zayn leaving, they really didn't stand a chance for longevity. Also, the members all seem interested in solo careers so... Yep Bieber outlasted by far.

You cant compare solo tween acts to boybands. A solo act can adapt and evolve far easier. Boybands usually have a very definite shelf life.
The only boyband who have really done this is Take that who actually sold much stronger when they came back and appealed to an older demo. Then they started selling 3mill plus in the UK alone with every album.

What trend? He definitely has his own little sound going on right now and it's starting to get rehashed by other artists [ex: Natalia La Rose's AATW and Pia Mia's Touch]. Hits are not new to him

True. I stopped caring for One Direction after Zayn left. Justins music is much higher quality than theirs. The three songs from Purpose are like the only Justin songs I've ever enjoyed, a true slayage
Singles-wise, sure. He's been hopping on radio Candy EDM songs. His album will sell more than MITAM too because 1D aren't promoting after the first few weeks. No tour. Nothing.
