I don't know if Perry's lead from her next CD will put up numbers close to Roar's or not. Teenage Dream was more successful overall than Prism. Prism had two big hits and stopped at 1.7 million copies, but Teenage Dream sold 3 million copies had many more songs almost that big and one that was bigger. I'm thinking she'll start out closer to 400k with the leadoff to her next release.

No disrespect to Clay Aiken, but I would rather that last spot in the Physical Singles Top 10 have gone to a song that actually went on to become a sales powerhouse. "This Is The Night" was indeed the latest-released physical single to go Platinum, but it still stopped short of 1 million (around 950,000 copies). The last physical single to actually sell 1 million copies was Madonna's "Music," which sold about 1,150,000, With all of the other Triple and Quadruple Platinum physical singles from the 1990's, it's a shame that one of songs, or Elton or Whitney, couldn't have finished out that Top 10 list for biggest sales weeks.

Not to mention, this was about 3 months before Billboard began to include YouTube streams into the Hot 100 - they were only counting OnDemand streams. Thus, Taylor was at a severe disadvantage considering that her song wasn't on Spotify at that time.
