A Shelby County Sheriff's Captain is behind bars Wednesday morning.
According to investigators, Captain Monica Johnson used her position and resources to obtain information related to her son's indictment. Her son, Nehemiah Rimmer, is indicted on a child rape charge.
According to a police report, Johnson used Shelby County Sheriff's Office resources to find a witness in Rimmer's rape case. Johnson took the witness into custody, then drove to a truck stop on Lamar Avenue to question the witness.
Investigators also said Johnson knew about a warrant issued for Rimmer's arrest after he was indicted, but didn't tell detectives his location.
According to the Shelby County website, Johnson is also executive officer of the fugitive division. Her LinkedIn profile shows she's been with the department for more than 17 years.
I can't believe that after 17 years 'protecting citizens' and she decides to do this horrible act. What a low life.
