What other acts debuting around Brit's time sold that many albums?

She's the second best selling bubblegum act ever. Third place is about 40 million albums behind her.

To answer the thread question, depends on how many albums Adele releases. But she will definitely outsell every other female pop star beneath Britney in sales; she has already outsold Beyonce, and is close to outselling Taylor Swift, Xtina, Shakira, and P!nk.

If anyone can, it's Adele. It won't even be easy for her - 25 could sell another 20 million and she'd still be tens of millions away from Britney, so she'd have to sustain massive popularity for a long time.

sorry but Xtina, Pink, BSB, Nsync, Pink and even Destiny child debuted almost at the same time and no one is close to BRITNEY number's, not even usher who debuted almost 4 years before

Adele is the only act this decade to sell 30m from one album alone, which is much more impressive.

You make it seem like just about everyone was selling huge amounts, when it was quite clearly the opposite. You can manipulate percentages, baseless probability and conjecture all day long, but at the end of the day it just shows how hard you're trying to diminish Britney's huge achievements.

OT: I think Adele has a chance to get close, considering she's already at around 38-39M, only time will tell.

it's a possibility. Britney let her career go, she definitely could have sold more but whatever. It's very possible.

She has to sell another 50 million albums to surpass Britney. If 25 sells well and she releases new albums soon after it's possible but it won't be easy

Yes I think she could if she doesn't take too long to release 28.

After 25 is done she could be around 55 million (with the catalog sales of 21 & 19 which will increase obviously) and Britney is around 85 million albums.
