A six-year-old was rushed to hospital after an accident on a schoolyard playground early Monday afternoon.
Few details were offered, but police said the girl’s
scarf got caught on the monkey bars at O.S. Geiger school in Castleridge.
The girl is a Grade 1 student at the school.
A spokesperson for the Calgary Fire Department said the initial call indicated she was not breathing. But Carol Henke said the child was
semi-conscious and breathingby the time firefighters arrived just before 1 p.m.
EMS rushed her to hospital in
‘potentially life-threatening’ condition.
