I mean, to be honest, TV series before Lost were kinda cheap and tacky (not on cable, though). One simply couldn't stan hard for them (except for Friends, but that's another story ).

Like people actually discussed about the episodes live just as they were airing on forums and theorized about what was going on, took screencaps, transcripted the whole episodes, analyzed audios, etc...

There have been many shows that have tried to come for Lost, ha wig but have failed. So in a way you could say Lost opened the door for those kind of shows.

Never seen Lost, heard some very favorable and very negatives comments about it, but IMDB says it was made by JJ Abrams -- he has a fantastic track record, and I am willing to bet that his name alone gave the show traction from the start.

Because Lost is the best show of all time. It has an incredibly interesting premise that only gets better as it moves on. It actually requires you to think and pay attention and leaves room for analysis while most shows before that didn't have such complexity. It also has the best cliffhangers and season finales in any show ever.

Lost slayed until the ending.

I'm actually currently re-watching it for the first time since it ended. It's definitely not the best show I've ever seen (Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and Orange Is The New Black are all better), but it really is an amazing show. Great characters, cool plot, and storytelling that constantly keeps you on the edge of your seat even upon re-watch when you know what happens.

It also holds up REALLY well today for a show that started more than 11 years ago and ended over 5 years ago. It could debut on TV this year and still slay most current shows.

It's so boring I tried so hard but I guess it's not my cup of tea.
