How do we know this legitimate? What is the source? Particularly since one of the senators is gay.

Yeah, the issues with these ANONYMOUS leaks is that there is no one to confirm it's validity. It's already been brought up that a lot of the numbers listed are wrong or fake or telemarketer numbers. There seems to be some backpeddling from some popular anon twitter accounts, but I don't have time to find links right now.

This only means that the senators' e-mails were used to sign up for a KKK website when anybody could have used those e-mails. Obama's e-mail appeared in the Ashley Madison data leak seven times. Anonymous said that they're not taking credit for this and that they're not releasing their real exposé until November 5th

This. I mean, as much of a kii as it would be to see KKK-tied government officials outed, there's really no evidence as to whether this is true or not. And I don't see how in 2015, someone could be a part of the KKK in secret.

Here we go again. Baseless claims made by some online group of nobodies whom think they have some power over the rest of us since they know how to hack a computer. Even worse, half of social media will believe this and probably ruin these politicians careers.

Some of the people on here are incredible people that have had false accusations baselessly lobbed at them. I was reading about one woman on this list from an interracial family that has pushed legislation for protecting young boys of color. She's also been advocating for gay rights for a long time and was the only mayor in her state to support the Supreme Court's overturn of DOMA.

I hate the internet sometimes.

The list appears to detail social media profiles of people who had joined or "liked" KKK-related groups on Facebook and Google+. Many of the profiles featured racist imagery and slogans.
Anonymous said it had used human intelligence - not hacking - to create the list.
"This means that individuals on this list were often identified by human sources of information through both overt (interviewing expert sources) and covert (digital espionage/social engineering) methods," a statement accompanying the list read.
