Kim's contribution to beauty and fashion, and what has made her such an icon, is the fact that you don't ha e to be super slim and very tall to beautiful. Others tried, but she succeeded in giving other girls like herself confidence. And I admire her for that.

Um, Kim is absolutely a trendsetter. Every girl who's worn a crop top with a high-waisted pencil skirt and single-soled sandals over the past like 3 years is following a trend that Kim help set. And NO ONE outside of the beauty industry would know what contouring was if it wasn't for her. Love or hate her but she's definitely a style icon at this point.

Not really. People love to throw around "Marilyn Monroe was a size 16" but that's only in vintage UK sizing. By today's current sizing standards Marilyn Monroe would be like a 6-8 at most.
But Kim Kardashian, a size 12, is much more representative of what a modern woman looks like, at least in America.

Anyone who thinks she isn't an icon of our time is either thick or in denial.
Course, she may not go out and CREATE trends, but she still sets them, and does a good job at it. Her + the rest of her sisters are emblems of the beauty on show across the world this decade.
