No. And those arguing about physical sales pushing the album to 1M, clearly the reason why the album sold so much digitally is because it was released exclusively to iTunes only in its first days of release. I mean Beyoncé even occupied every banner in the iTunes Store when it came out
So that forces people to buy your music now because it's exclusively on iTunes? Logic. Good to know
She didn't sell 1m in her first 10 days, what makes you think she could have done it in seven
This is a moot question, because with a physical release (it takes weeks to manufacture and distribute CDs) she would not have had the element of surprise since the info would have leaked from stores receiving and stocking the CD. It totally changes the nature of the release. You can't live in a fantasy world where it wouldn't have leaked, that doesn't happen. There's a reason why every surprise release has been only on iTunes.
are you saying that if it was possible to have CDs in stores on the week it was released digitally that no one would've bought them? or that people only bought the album because it was exclusively digital? is that YOUR logic?
Yep. She would've had the whole week AND had the physical copies to help push the sales above that figure. I'm so surprised she sold what she did without physicals and the support of HUGE retailers. The only other girls who could've done that are Taylor and Adele. That's power.
Don't listen to her wasps saying "no". They clearly have no idea what they are talking about. Just being biased and bitter that their faves don't compare.
She came really close to it in 10 days.
Had she released on a Tuesday, the press and hype of her pushing through every prediction would have made her sell more than what she did. It was so much fun to see her exceed the expectation on every HDD report.
Self Titled was such an event! 2 years later and we're still discussing its first week sales impact
I love how GreasyBruce, Rei and Paola Bracho are confirmed presence at every single Beyoncé related thread.
That's commitment. The hive should take notes
She doesn't have much hype like Taylor, Adele, Britney and Gaga at their peak. Her career is like that of Pink's. Sells consistently without leaving much impact. And that's isn't necessarily a bad thing.
No, it's not a bad thing at all but there is plenty of impact from Beyoncé's career. I know you know what it is so I'm not going to bother listing it all.
Maybe, maybe not. The fact still remains that most of your faves have not done it or can't do it anymore. The only pop girls that have opened with a bigger first week than s/t this decade is Gaga and Taylor. And Adele will probably do it on this new album and that'll be it for a long while.
Not bad for someone who hasn't had any smashes in 5 years.
