we're both kind of needy/clingy though which is the funny part. like if i dont respond to a few of his texts immediately he'll say "sorry im so clingy" or something. im just so lonely rn !!!

His phone may be dead. Or he's running an errand. Or he want to be left alone atm. Or he went shopping. etc.
You should be able to go a day without contacting him but that's just me. If he doesn't respond in 20 hours, then something's wrong.
