After telling my mom months ago about my sexuality, she keeps fighting with me over the dumbest thing and going back into this topic. She picks up on the silliest things and then provokes to fight me. If not on a daily basis, it's weekly and no one is taking my side or standing up for me.

I have tried to talk with her in a reasonable way but then she turns into her old ways and doesn't listen. She thinks I'm prostituting and hooking with multiple men where I don't even hookup. She is threatening to tell dad and he is strict and worse than her. I have no one or a friend or a place to turn to and lgbt communities are rare and not helpful for me. I'm literally crying as I'm writing this rant cause I feel so heavy and tired.

Well stand up for yourself.. why you should be scared of your dad? Just let him punch you. . Sue his ass and you"ll have some money to live on ur own... nobody deserves to be treated bad because of sexual orientation

One of my really good friends is gay and his parents found out by snooping on his phone. They had their suspicions but basically messages between him and his first boyfriend kinda solidified it. His parents are foreign and creepily religious so they went psycho on him, even flew him to LA (from the Bay Area) on the weekends and forced him to attend "therapy" which was basically this program to "un-gay" people. Three weeks into it, California made the practice illegal so he didn't have to go anymore, but regardless, it completely ruined his relationship with his parents. He has absolutely no feelings or emotion towards them anymore, but it doesn't matter to him because he still has tons of friends and other family members who love him and support him no matter what.

My point is, it does get better. I don't know how close you are with your parents but sometimes, if they're not gonna support you, you gotta learn to let them go. They might've raised you, put a roof over your head, fed you, etc. but if they're gonna attack you for simply being the person you are, that's toxic and unnecessary stress. It's not like it's 1985 anymore, being gay is pretty much a normal thing nowadays and if they're not up to date with the present-day, that's their issue. I hope that you work things out with your parents but don't beat yourself up if they aren't coming around. They might one day, they might not. That's just the reality of things.

I'm 21, I live in the MENA region where basically the laws are against lgbt members and the society is phobic by itself.

Not really. I live in a town and the nearest ones are in the city which are two hours away. Besides, I have asked several times help from an lgbt activist and but he thought I was pranking and lying to him. I even sent pics before of my clawed hand cause my mom scratched my fingers during a fight to an lgbt organization. The greatest advice I was given is to stay strong and with time, everything goes alright. So they're worthless piece of crap.

I do too, that's why I'll never come out to everyone. Sis you're brave for coming out at least to her. If she caught you hooking up, you might be executed by gov officials depending on where you live

I can't afford for financial and college related reasons, unless I drop out of uni and find work in the city and my parents are so not letting me do that until I finish my degree.
