I really didn't think it mattered so greatly whether this fit Rihanna to a T or not since most of her songs are demoes from other artists to begin with nor that it was that sweet compared to songs like "Diamonds" and "Loveeeeeee Song", which also have very forced rhymes themselves. Plus, "I'm actually permissive" isn't that awkward; it's just not commonly said… it's another way to say I'm open-minded to this relationship…

I'm a dance producer, that's my schtick, so that's the reason for the audio being less ballad-y and more uptempo 90s throwback. How it's written is meant to be interpreted in many different ways, since the lyrics don't follow exactly how the song was sung (since I knew I'd be docked for having an awkward song pattern like last season)… And I understand why it wouldn't work with Unapologetic, but I was going for a replacement for "Nobody's Business" to begin with since I personally believed that album was basically trying to showcase how much she won't apologize for what she did and what she had to endure to be who she is now… and that included falling in love with *ahem*…
