Pandora’s commentary- Listening to this song is legit like an out of body experience and the lyrics are without a doubt some of the best she’s EVER written. It’s so morbid but peaceful and I love it. Perfect album closer too so it’s definitely deserving of my 11.This is probably my second favourite Madonna song of all time, behind Like a Prayer (so obviously it was going to get my 11). In my opinion, Mer Girl is one of her strongest lyrical deliveries ever. Everything about the song is a really telling and introspective story, so yeah, I’m a fan of it. The instrumental is down to a tee and it has just enough subtlety to still have a certain impact on the listener, and to add to that, it enhances the lyrics really well. I dunno, I just find this song so perfect.
Mr. Fahrenheit’s commentary - Hands down the creepiest, most atmospheric thing she ever recorded. We are all unworthy of this masterpiece. Christ, Madge has some terrifying dreams.
Host commentary - Ray of Light is one big journey and it ends with this gloriously haunting track. It gives me chills with how captivating it is.
Guest commentary
Vilppu - A spacious, calm and serene ballad. The fact that it never explodes, yet still manages to attract the listener's attention makes it even more amazing.
Reinvention - Poetic, intriguing, weird title.
Eeveelution - I ignored this for so long, but it's a real masterpiece. I love the haunting atmosphere and I think it has her best lyrics to date. ATRL won't appreciate this sadly, but I'd love to be proved wrong!
Subomie- The bookend, and I mean it in the nicest way. The polar opposite to Drowned World, using the same instruments and sounds, yet it makes an entirely different, darker atmosphere. The sombre ending to the book and the ties with the water imagery set up throughout the album. It's perfect.

Host commentary - Did y'all think you were listening to one of her classics when she started referencing past songs? Did you get confused? It is cute and works surprising well all things considered, but top 10? Really?
Guest commentary
Pandora - Mainly gave this track a high score because I feel like it meets halfway between the two core themes of Rebel Heart + it was perfect to listen to after going through god knows how many tracks in this rate. The perfect song to remind you how far the queen has come and think about all that she’s done (it’s also a bop and Nas’ verse is cute). A real album highlight (probably the song with the most replay value for me). I love the mix of the acoustic guitar sounds with the Hip-Hop/R&B beats.
Reinvention – love this song so much
Eeveelution - It's impressive that she could make a song so self-referential not sound (that) cringeworthy and embarrassing. There's something really uplifting about that chorus.
Subomie - 10 for the title alone, Bragdonna, but the song itself actually matches up. Self referential in the best way and Nas' verse is pretty good too. The triumphant trumpets are amazing
Alongoria13 - The chorus goes nowhere and Nas' lyrics turn me off but those damn Holiday horns are enough for me.

eli’s_rhythm - tired of the motif but it’s a pleasant song
Subomie- The drug references are bit cringe, but the song is still beautiful. One of her best songs in years, it just floats along.
Pandora – It’s cute. One of the best songs she’s released this decade.
Alongora13 - This song instantly became one of my top Madonna songs. I love her voice, the messy lyrics, the oooooh's, everything  Should've been a single instead of Bottomtown.

I really like the title 'Mer Girl' and it's clear it was inspired by a dream of hers, but yeah I don't think this should've been top 5.
