Plenty of music festivals have been scrutinized over their chronic lack of female performers. Ellie Goulding, for one, would like to see more women headline the U.K.’s biggest festival stage.

"I got annoyed when Glastonbury had so many men on the line-up," the British pop star admitted in her new Cosmopolitan cover story.

"Then Florence headlined,” Goulding added. “Things are changing, you know? And I love it."

On the topic of gender inequality in music, Goulding also added, "I get annoyed when men write degrading songs about women, but women are starting to speak out.”
