In Texas starting August 2016 open carry of guns/weapons will be allowed in Universities and colleges. What do you think this is going to start? Do you think we have to get used to shootings in school from now on?

This is a topic that keeps me up at night so i just wanna hear more options about it

I mean the number of guns isn't going up at all compared to if this law didn't exist, so I don't think school shootings will increase.

It's just that the people who were previously required to conceal and carry can now just carry.

I go to UT Austin and there have been plenty of Anti-Campus Carry rallies. I'm super opposed to the law, but I don't think much can be done now

It can't start anything that's already started. It's just fanning the flames.

This is horrible.

I get that, but what if a student with a bad temper comes across something that triggers them to shoot? Like a teacher giving them a bad grade, someone bumping into them, simply having a bad day?

You could have that situation without this law too. It's just that the student's gun would be concealed.

Mess. I really want to go to Texas for my postgraduate study, but i guess it won't be my choice anymore

The only difference here is that their guns are showing.

But you could use this argument for any type of weapon
