I went to the movies two nights ago with friends to go see "I Can Do Bad By Myself" and seen a trailer the movie Precious which left me floored and anticipating the release date of the movie. I must say I am really looking forward to the release of this film in November. Mo'Nique, Mariah, Lenny Kravitz, and others look to have really brought their A game for this movie. It's based off the book, "Push" by Sapphire which was written in 1996.
Plot: Overweight, illiterate teenager Clareece "Precious" Jones (Gabourey Sidibe) lives in Harlem with her dysfunctional family; she has been impregnated twice by her father and is withstanding a hurtful relationship with her mother (Mo'Nique). Precious is invited to an alternative school where she hopes that her life can lead a new direction.
