LOL Nobody is putting MJB on a pedestal that she hasn't already earned. The only thing direpectful is comparing Mary J Blige to Adele. While Adele is extremely successful she is really just a contemporary artists. Let's not get carried away. Mary is a LEGEND and has influenced Adele. Don't forget it.



Adele material wise is on par with Jill Scott and Jazmine Sullivan. They sing the EXACT same music yet only Adele has received mega success. I wonder why... And I don't say that to discredit Adele. She's amazing, but let's not give her too much.

A mess... Mary carved her own sound out and paved the way for many artists. Adele has no such musical legacy.

I know she did that Christmas duet with Jessie J and performed it somewhere (can't remember if it was XF or the Royal Variety Christmas thing), and I know someone auditioned with one of her songs on an X Factor audition like 3 years ago, and that's about it.
Yeah this is a much better comparison, but I think Celine is too legendary / iconic to be surpassed on someone's 3rd album.
