It's nothing against your post, it's just that Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato being the more "decent" vocalists of this generation just kinda goes to show how untalented a lot of "singers" nowadays really are.
I'm sure those who grew up with Mariah and Whitney give us pity for not getting to experience a generation of a lot of genuinely talented singers. There are definitely a few though (Adele, P!nk, Kelly, Beyoncé, Gaga) but you can argue that most of them aren't really from THIS generation.
Ariana Grande can hit high notes, but her lower register is terrible and her awful enunciation is why I will never be able to take her or her music seriously.
Demi has potential but she sings with incorrect technique, her voice squeaks in all of her recent performances, she gets a tad pitchy, and she just falls flat when compared to the women I listed above. Not to mention, most of her music is terrible. If she took the Adele route and just sang ballads (which are by far and beyond Demi's best songs) instead of her second-rate Katy Perry songs, she might claim a spot. But for now, no.
