I watched Pandorum last night, btw, good movie and saw some interesting facts.

According to statistics, when we landed on the moon, 1969, the population was 3 billion something.

Our current population, 40 years later, has doubled if not more to 6.5 billion. We already are experiencing shortages of food, clean water and resources such as oil/gas.

I forgot the last date they mentioned, maybe within 100 years in the future, our population is supposed to be 24-26 billion and they added in a tibit that our shortages is at it's peak!

Which is why they sent out this ship, to find another planet of hopes of humanity's survival.



Do you believe it? I think I do. Clearly our population doubled in the past 40 years. Does that mean in another 40 years our population will be 9 billon at least? Or 12 billon? How are we supposed to save the world?! God's plan is being ruined by these straight folks! Oh snap!

Go see the movie, it was pretty intense.

However, it's all trumped by the world ending in 2012, so don't sweat it

The theory is that the population increase will plateau as all available habitable areas are used and resources consumed, reaching a point where we stabilize. China shows signs of this and Japan, for how small they are in size, has also shown signs of this happening actively today.

So don't sweat it

And again, 2012 Research that more, Nostradamus could have been a parlor trick, but he's not the only one. It's some time away though so no need to get stressed about it now.

The theory of the world ending in 2012 is pure hogwash.

No one knows the day or the hour the world will end.

I do... It will end February 21, 2576.

Now lets analyze this. How is my prediction any less valid than Dec 21, 2012? On Dec. 22, 2012, we should ban all ATRL members who believed in that.

Regarding 2012, they had the same fiasco about 2000, and look where we are now...


As for the population/world' supplies, if religion would kindly step aside, science could take care of that.

Any ways, I don't believe the world is going to end in 2012, but I do find it to be the most believable end date that has been brought up, way more believable that that stupid 6/6/06 bull ****.

We'll work our way around this.

Humans will adapt to the changes long before we know it.

And the shortage of gas is definitely a good sign. By 2012, we'll be switching to power-generator resources that are more nature-friendly than the conventional fossil fuels.
