I've already answered this though and it's stated in the challenge post.
You are supposed to write a song that would serve as a good title track for that album, so yes of course you're supposed to mirror that artist's style, in particular the style of that album. It's supposed to sound like a song they would sing from that album. That's the challenge of it.

For example, when Sia writes for other artists, she puts herself in their shoes... it still has her signature sound to it, like it should have
your signature sound to it, but it also fits the artist she's writing for. Trying to find that balance of your style and the artist's will be a good challenge.
