This is a really great point. They had a lot more freedom on this album not writing for a tour. It's like how different MDNA is to Rebel Heart: MDNA was made for the Super Bowl and for the tour specifically, whereas Rebel Heart was a more organic creation.

Made in the A.M. could well end up being the boys' best yet.

Great... FOUR wasn't a step ahead: for me it was a cheaper version of MM.
I'm happy to hear some new influences on their music

I disagree, I enjoyed FOUR a lot and it showed further artistic progression and even more maturity, just some of it was a little bland and the pacing needed to be fixed. Also, the production got a bit repetitive in places. That doesn't seem to be an issue with this album thus far.

Although, Infinity would have been something I found 'meh' on FOUR, but I think they released that as a promo to ease fans of the anthems into the maybe more relaxed approach of MITAM.

Yes this one sounds more diverse but im hoping for a bit of Cohesiveness and that the songs doesnt sound too much out of place

Except the material on FOUR and MM era is far less superior so far. I get not wanting to do as anthemic of songs for once as a big pop act on their 5th album, but I just wish the new tracks were more memorable and inspired if they were really trying to go in a different direction.
