AKB48 are a different monster altogether. Women don't sell physical music to the GP, especially in Asia. Their dedicated fanbase buys their physical records in the first week (the fact that they make over $25M that way) and then the casuals buy digital copies. AKB48 is one of the very few female entities with selling power over casual consumers in Asia and so they also have a ridiculously high number of digital sales (and a digital single is $3.99).

Agreed. I wasn't trying to drag you but to give some context to your post because the average ATRLer would see that, write a post "kii-ing" about how frontloaded Asian acts are and then pretend that they're flops.

oh yea i get that. well it's just a bit of a different system i guess especially the lack of streaming compared to western countries but more physical sales etc
