I think Mariah might sell a lil' bit more than Madonna since madonna's new album is a greatest hits.

Does the topic starter know that Madonna's Celebration is released on various dates worldwide ? And so is Mariah's Memoirs. That means there's no unified 'worldwide first week sale' for both.

They are all getting US releases on 29th September, and around the same time worldwide.

eh idk i dont think mariah will do that well on this one... I checked her album on iTUnes and paramore is at 44 on pre-orders and mariah is way back at 67... selena is at 69 and madonna is past 100. Don't underestimate paramore

Pre-order doesnt affect the sales at all. If I remmeber correctly, David Cook was #1 iTunes album during the debut week and ended up #3 Billboard 200. Back in April 2008, Hard Candy also had higher position on Amazon album chart than E=MC2.
