I think a lot of credit for this Adele storm goes to timing. We've had nothing but teeny pop the last 3-4 years with very little substance. I think with the success of her upcoming album the tide will once again turn back to talent and great lyricism for the latter part of this decade. This will then open the door for an amazing Mariah comeback in a year or so. The people are thirsty for talent and vocal ability again, not star studded over produced videos and basic ass music.

I don't know if I said this already but I really think Mariah was snubbed AOTY back in 1991, her debut is the blueprint for singing, and it really is a masterpiece of an album.

But remember that while people love Adele for her mature music, they also love her personality and how down-to-earth she is. What MC needs to do is shift the narrative from the diva personality to her passion as an artist. She's not relatable to the GP at all. She needs to get back to interviews where she's talking about songwriting and her drive and doesn't spend half the interview talking about splashes and her difficult pregnancy.
