Some schools have begun the process of eliminating chairs and opting for taller desks so that students stand instead of sitting. The White House has also spent some money to replace smaller desks. What do you think about having to possibly stand up in school and work? I for one think it's a good idea because humans weren't made to be sitting all day, so it might help young kids with their posture and help older people regain their back strength.
An awful awful idea. Expecting young kids to stand up for hours on end five days a week Adults sit in office chairs on a day to day basis, why not get rid of chairs permanently? At least use posture correcting ones.
Saw the news story on this yesterday. It actually doesn't sound too bad.
They having standing desk but if the children are tired or even if they want to, THEY ARE ALLOWED TO SIT. They have noticed that the kids are more mentally active from standing. But like I said, they do have the option to sit.
What if they get tired or standing? When I worked at retail, I had to stand for 8 hours a day and it really messed up my back.
Well they have desks to lean on. Why would you need a desk in retail? I work at a restaurant and have to around for hours as well, getting a good pair of shoes does wonders!
No. I remember in grammar school for science lab we had to stand up the whole hour everyday
cause there were only these round stations and no desks
Unless we were watching some educational movie or something.
