Research the original of POP, R&B, FOLK, SOUL, GOSPEL, ROCK N' ROLL
You'll find black artists at the FOREFRONT of creating, developing and innovating in these genres.
How are black artists over-presented in a field they've built but been pushed out of by more marketable white acts.
Even the King of Rock N Roll/Pop, Elvis Presley is evidence of this. There were black acts before him that influenced his style.
Same with British groups like The Beatles, The Who and The Rolling Stones who were big fans of Motown and American soul music and frequently covered it and was influenced by it.
