This slay of a response, though:

Dear Judith,
I wish Adele, my fav and Beyonce, who I adore were both sitting here, next to me, reading this so the could help me convey to you how this article (and articles of it's kind) promote negative competition between talented women.
From the looks of this article, I think it's safe to say that you consider yourself a feminist. But I, and most modern feminists, would strongly disagree. To use a woman who has nothing to do with the **** industry (besides being parodied in several films) as a scapegoat for why women are watching **** is appalling. Beyonce is an undeniably beautiful woman who should have the right to explore her sexuality without backlash, especially from another woman. This sort of patriarchal thought process, that women who embrace their sexuality are subhuman is one of the basis of the feminist movement. What you're missing is Beyonce and Adele do the same thing is different ways. Although she doesn't do it often, Adele discusses her body while Beyonce shows her's off. How are both of these not empowering to women?
Why is Adele a BETTER role model? What has she said her or done to be a BETTER role model. Because her body doesn't meet the standards set forth by Western Europeans and Americans? Because she is a white full-figured girl at a time where so many white girls aim for thigh gaps? Would we be having this conversation about any of the countless white women who show off their bodies? Madonna, Cher, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Katy Perry all these women flaunt their bodies. And most of them would consider themselves feminists. So why did you choose to single out a black woman who makes songs like "***Flawless" when most of the white women who make empowerment songs aren't directing them toward a female audience? Why does SHE look like a hooker but none of these other women do? Why did you CHOOSE to mention Adele as a mother but not Beyonce? You even incorrectly labelled Adele as a wife to make her seem like a better person but guess what, only one of these women has a child out of wedlock and it was not Beyonce. Adele is a good role model but what has she done in the feminist movement to really say she is actually a BETTER role model rather than just a role model? Why didn't you argue Nicki Minaj, who tells her "barbz" to stay in school and not let any man take care of you" is a better role model than Beyonce? But NO! You chose a white women who chooses not to be political to make your point.
Again, Adele is my favorite singer but to say that she is a BETTER role model than Beyonce is not only not true it is an insult to feminism for a plethora of reasons.
This article is nothing more than a pathetic white feminism tactic. And while you may consider yourself a journalist, you should truly take the time to discover what it means to be a feminist being that you think you should pit women up against one another to prove your "feminist" beliefs.
