From a PR standpoint, Bieber's much blander, more goody-twoshoes image/music is really smart. He tried making more interesting, diverse music along with demonstrating a lot more personality and his fan base along with the general public just gave him the finger. Had he tried releasing Journals 2.0, we would not even be discussing him right now.

Still, What Do You Mean is in the same lane as crap like Style and Black Magic for being beyond uninteresting and uninspired.
