They do it against Britney too.
Gaga fans can no longer hide behind taylor so now they are just saying anything now that their fave's brand is associated with an american horror story instead of reaching top 20 on itunes...you know music related (her main bread and butter)

In the age of digital and streaming Britney has more #1 hits. Most of her singles in the 2000s didn't have cd single releases...I would think gaga would be close to a katy in terms of #1s.

More VMAs than the supposed "queen of the VMAs" ✓ The queen of VMAs is madonna. Britney was a major force regarding her VMAs performances. She didn't have to be serve transvestite bleeding on stage desperate for an epic moment or wear poultry to cover up odor. She just owned the stage. Brtiney's WORST VMA performance is more iconic than your faves best. Poor dat.

Because Gaga doesn't have nearly as many iconic songs, performances, videos her impact is largely thanks to copying grace jones, bowie, madonna, britney, xtina and without that her career declined. Her power declined. Her sales and tour grosses declined.
She released a song that couldn't even spend 1 minute in the top 20 on itunes
Yet her biggest feat is a highly rated show referencing monsters and this gory unattractive way of being. That's her brand right now.
I still hope she comes back in 2016 though

She's not done. She's still omnipresent in your mind and still getting headlines and making a million a week.
