I agree, but don't you think it can harmful for people who can't handle it mentally? it's not for everyone.
Would it be harmful for them if they're only training and not actually fighting in a war or something? It's not something I know a lot about if I'm honest.
Compulsory service is such an outdated and ridiculous 'thing'.
Sure, armies are great for the well-being and protection of a country, but wars shouldn't be taking place. I mean it's almost 2015 and there are countries still fighting each other for what....? I genuinely don't know.
It's mandatory here for men (1 year iirc). I'm strongly against it (so is the majoriry of the population, though the polls may state the opposite), but it isn't going anywhere, especially after Ukrainian crisis.
