Depends on the vocals and songwriting

So wrong. Songwriting is all about skills you train over years. Maybe your fave writes ****** lyrics so you don't care.

So, songwriting all the way. I have no or very little respect for artists who don't write their own material.

Vocals.

Of course if you're not a strong vocalist, then your songwriting is probably why I like you.

I will say that I literally don't listen to any artist for vocals. I listen for the songwriting first. That's why I stan artists that have good/average voices but amazing songs. Regina, Kacey... Katy...

Also why singing reality show contestants are of ZERO interest to me.

This. A great voice is phenomenal and magical, but I would an artist who can write a perfect song then someone who sings exceptionally well.

My fave is Taylor Swift so she slays both.

It depends how good they are at both.

I think it depends on how good an artist is at both of those skills. For instance, I find Bob Dylan's songwriting more impressive than his singing.

Song writing.

You might be born with a nice voice that doesn't need much training but you have to actually practice over and over to be a good songwriter (not saying you don't have to do the same with your voice but sometimes you are just #blessed)
